History of April Fools Day
What is April Fools Day and how did it begin?
Well, that is a very good question. The origin of this holiday is rather uncertain.
However, the common belief holds that during the reformation of the calendar
the date for the New Year was moved from April 1st to January 1st.
During that time in history there was no television or radio so word spread slowly.
There were also those who chose to simply ignore the change and those who
merely forgot.
These people were considered "fools" and invitations to non-existent parties and
other practical jokes were played on them.
"All Fools' Day" is practiced in many parts of the world with practical jokes and
sending people on a fool's errand.
Others believe that the origin began with celebrations at the Spring Equinox.
Crazy, Silly, Recipes
Cherry Cake or Meatloaf
Make your favorite meatloaf and bake in two 9-inch cake pans. Form the meatloaf to form to the pans
Prepare some mashed potatoes. When the meatloaf is done, place the meatloaf on a cake platter, ice the meatloaf with the mashed potatoes. Looks like a cake.
Spaghetti of Dessert
Place a slice of pound cake on a plate. Place softened ice cream in a pastry bag with a thin round tip. Pipe the ice cream over the pound cake in swirly motion to look like spaghetti noodles. Freeze for about 30 minutes. Pull out of freezer and top with strawberry jam as tomato sauce and a few coconut flakes to look like cheese.

APRIL FOOLS
by
Gregory K.
Someone took my toothpaste tube and filled it up with jam.
Someone changed my sandwich into fluffernut-and-ham.
Someone laced my sneakers so they tie down by my toes.
Someone changed the vacuum so it doesn't suck, it blows.
Someone poured the sugar out and filled the bowl with salt.
Someone messed up all the clocks and made it seem my fault.
For me today, I have to say, it's nervousness that rules....
Since all that happened yesterday and now it's April Fools'!
