20 Cinnamon Ideas

1. Sprinkle Cinnamon in with coffee grounds before brewing.

2. Sprinkle on chicken noodle soup for added flavor and instant cold remedy.

3. Mix in with hot cereals.

4. Sprinkle on frozen vanilla yogurt or ice cream.

5. Mix in with regular vanilla yogurt (not frozen) and eat plain or use as a topping for pancakes, bagels, etc.

6. Top a cinnamon-raisin Bagel with vanilla yogurt mixed with cinnamon and place on baking sheet in toaster oven or broiler. Tastes like a frosted cinnamon roll!

7. Room Freshener: Combine 1 tsp Watkins Coconut Extract, 1 tsp Cinnamon, 1 tsp Orange Peel and 1 tsp Allspice. Simmer on low or set jar on register for nice fragrance throughout the house.

9. Combine Cinnamon with chocolate when making chocolate cake, puddings or hot chocolate.

18. Make Baked Apples by sprinkling halved apples with a little brown sugar & Cinnamon. Microwave 1-2 minutes or just until tender.

20. Cinnamon Scents - 6 oz. Cinnamon, 2 1.2 oz. Nutmeg, 16 oz. Applesauce. Combine all ingredients; roll between waxed paper to desired thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Let air dry, turning daily to prevent warping. In hot weather cover to prevent drying too fast. While Cinnamon Scents are drying, punch a small hole in the top to later tie a small ribbon or yarn for hanging

Cinnamon Ornaments

  • 1 cup ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbs. ground cloves
  • 1 tbs. ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 2 tbs. glue

In a medium bowl, mix together cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.  Mix in applesauce and glue. Work the mixture with your hands 2-3 minutes to form a ball.  If mixture is too wet, add more cinnamon, if mixture is too dray, add more applesauce.

Lightly dust a clean surface with cinnamon, roll dough out to 1/4 inch thickness.  Cut out shapes with your favorite cookie cutters, use a toothpick to make a hole at the top for hanging with a ribbon of your choice.

Dry in a slow oven at 200 degrees for several hours, or air dry in a sunny spot for 5 days.
